OK, first off, I'm no fanboy, I'm just giving the best opinion I can give and I'll do it in segments here. First off, the shipping, the timely arrival, blah blah blah, who cares, but that is still rated at 5 stars. Arrived and looked as described. I got this in a box, pulled it out, let it breathe, tossed it on the bed and did other stuff and came back to a MAN PILLOW.I am a side sleeper "mainly". If you are anything like me, I had problems with taking regular pillows and bunching them up, sleeping on them folded in half, flipping them over 100 times a night because I made a bit of a flat spot on one side, etc. You know what I'm saying. So let me explain how this one works and how it's better regardless of what kind of sleeper you are. First off, don't be an idiot, read the instructions on how to create the best feel for you. It takes two seconds. Me personally, I'm a big guy...OK, I'm a fat guy and big. When I lay on my side, I like the pillow to allow my head to rest evenly in line with my back. Now, if you are a bigger person, and you have to place your right/left arm UNDER the pillow to get the lift you NEED from the pillow, you do what I do and wake up with an arm you can't feel. You may also do what I do, which is to roll over using my mass and taking my other arm to pull it back over my body until the tingling allows me to move my fingers again. This pillow stops that. It has lift, no really, it has LIFT baby. and it's not rock hard lift. The best way to explain it is like an adjustable cloud. It's very nice and soft and conforming, but without your head sinking below sea level to get that feel. Your head stays UP and with the way you can adjust this pillow, you can have basically any height you want. So, if you are a side sleeper, back sleeper, face sleeper that ends up on your elbows while breaking your back (yes, I've done this too), couch sleeper, lazy boy sleeper, you NEED this pillow. I've tried hundreds and spent literally thousands on pillows, but this is THE ONE.

This pillow attempts to combine the support of a memory foam pillow with the softness and malleability of a down pillow. Unfortunately, by trying to be everything to everyone, it falls short. Don't get me wrong, the pillow is clearly well made, and I understand what the manufacturer was trying to accomplish. But as a side sleeper who frequently switches sides throughout the night, I require a memory foam pillow that is firm, supportive and consistent. This pillow simply doesn't fit the bill. First, it is too soft. My head sinks too far down into the pillow, which results in there not being enough space between my head and my shoulder as I sleep on my side. This causes me some mild neck discomfort. Second, the composition of the pillow is somewhat inconsistent. Apparently this is by design. The manufacturer was trying to mimic the feel of down by loading the pillow with shredded chunks of material that can be fluffed to make a more custom fit. Although that might be comfortable for some people, it bothers me -- especially when I switch sides and have to readjust the stuffing of the pillow. I need a pillow that has a relatively uniform composition, and this one does not.I want to reiterate that this isn't a bad or poor quality pillow; it's just not right for me. Individual preferences for things like pillows and bedding are highly subjective.I spent some time setting up a demonstration to show everybody what I'm trying to describe. The average human head weighs roughly 10 pounds. So I gathered several books that stacked together weigh 9.7 pounds -- I weighed them on a scale -- and placed them on the pillow in various positions mimicking a sleepy head. Again, some people might look at the pictures and come to the conclusion that it's exactly what they're looking for. Others, however, may come to the opposite conclusion. Either way, I hope that this helps. If you're willing to bear with me a bit longer, I'd like to share five major things I've learned about buying pillows over the years.1) If you are a side sleeper, then you need a memory foam follow. Forget down or anything else. Only memory foam has the firmness and consistency that a side sleeper requires.2) Over time memory foam loses density. Period. You can buy yourself some extra time by flipping the pillow every night, but it's only delaying the inevitable. While it's true that some purportedly high quality pillows last longer than cheaper ones, I've found that the differences are marginal. If you rest your head on the same pillow every single night, then you need to replace it about every 16-20 months. Manufacturers will drone on and on about 5-year warranties and how their pillow lasts for years and it's total BS. Nowadays all these pillows are made in China and are super inexpensive, anyway. You can budget for a new $35 pillow every 18 months, believe me. (Please note: I am referring only to memory foam pillows. A high quality down pillow that's well taken care of will last for a long time -- perhaps as long as ten years.)3) Size and feel are more important than quality and cost. There's no point in spending more than $60 on a memory foam pillow. You can easily find a good pillow in the $30-50 price range. While it's sometimes true that the more expensive ones last a bit longer, it makes much more sense to buy an affordable pillow and simply replace it more frequently. I cannot emphasize this enough: the size, thickness, firmness and feel of the pillow matter WAY more than anything else when it comes to pillows. That being said, I wouldn't purchase anything too far below $30.4) Don't wash it. If you're getting a memory foam pillow shipped, then it'll emit a kind of chemical smell after you remove it from the box. Just let it air out for 48 hours and it'll go away. Afterwards, encase the pillow in two layers. The first layer should be one of those close-fitting pillow protectors that protect against allergens and hair and body oils. (It'll also shield you from any irritants residing in the pillow.) The second layer will be your regular pillow cover. Do that and you're good to go. Don't listen to the manufacturers about washing the pillow. It's a huge hassle and a massive waste of time and energy. Remember, these things are basically disposable. They're not like a down pillow that you're going to have for years and years.5) There's no such thing as a perfect pillow. Everyone's needs are different, and yet there are no "bespoke" or tailored pillows customized for an individual. So even though I often find pillows that I like, I've yet to find a perfect one for me. And that stands to reason because no one's ever tried to design and manufacture a pillow tailored to my specific needs. I am a side sleeper, and the following advice is intended solely for side sleepers. Over the years, I've found that a side sleeper needs a medium-firm to firm pillow that is also thick enough to maintain a 90 degree angle where the head meets the shoulders. That's the same angle that naturally occurs while you're awake and going about your business throughout the day. If the head sinks too low when you sleep, then it puts strain and pressure on your neck. Someone with wide shoulders will need a thicker pillow -- unless of course they have a proportionally large head and thick neck, in which case the pillow might not need to be any thicker than someone with narrower shoulders. Additionally, one must factor in the firmness of their mattress. If your mattress is on the soft side, then a side sleeper's shoulders will sink farther into the mattress, leaving less space between the shoulder and head and thus requiring less thickness in the pillow. Conversely, a firmer mattress necessitates a thicker pillow in order to compensate for the increase in space between the shoulders and head.

I'll start by saying I've owned this pillow for a year and I will never again own a different pillow. I have some neck issues and tried so many different brands of pillows, I was beginning to lose hope, that is until I purchased this product. This is the best pillow I have ever owned. I say that for multiple reasons. The 1st being the comfort of the pillow itself, down and cotton pillows give my neck the support it needed, which left me in pain, however, the shredded memory foam gave me the perfect amount of support. Consequently, it completely eradicated the pain I was suffering from in my neck. The 2nd reason I absolutely love this pillow is the fact they actually do stay cool. I will admit when I was reading about the pillow, before purchasing, I was very skeptical of this claim. But upon using this pillow the skepticism was eradicated, just as my neck pain was. The fact that the memory foam is shredded allows better airflow, compared to other memory foam pillows. The fact that the pillow keeps you cool can also be attributed to the fact that the pillow in question is manufactured with bamboo polyester fabric. The 3rd reason I am so partial to this pillow has to do with the fact that you can fluff it up or thin it out to your exact liking and it will hold its shape.Just a few tips for prospective buyers: If your pillow comes with a off putting odor (which mine did), I sprayed mine with febreeze and threw it in the dryer for about an hour, the offputting smell was completely gone after doing this. Another tip, if your pillow stops holding its shape or begins to become flat, just throw it in the dryer for about ten minutes, comes out as good as new. With all that being said, if you suffer from neck pain, or just looking for an incredibly well crafted and comfortable pillow, look no further, this is the pillow for you, you will not be dissatisfied with your purchase, it's a year later and I'm still genuinely thankful I purchased this.

Features:

  • Made with 40% Bamboo Derived Viscose Rayon and 60% Polyester
  • Made in the USA
  • Made with CertiPUR-US Certified foam filling
  • Comes with the Coop Home Goods Guarantee

Conclusion

If you are looking for pillow that you can tinker with until you get it just right, then the adjustable memory foam pillow from Coop Home Goods may be for you. The outer case on this pillow also features a top stitched design that looks great all by itself.

PROS:
  • Covered with a removable quilted bamboo derived cover, this pillow is hypoallergenic. You won’t feel stuffed up or itchy at three in the morning.
  • You can also remove the outer cover to wash it whenever you want.
  • The tightly woven outer cover is dust mite resistant.
  • The shredded elastic memory foam is easy to push, pull, or shove into a comfortable shape for sleeping.
  • Unzip the inner pouch to remove a little or a lot of the shredded foam, so the pillow is the ideal thickness for you. This is a great option for parents who want to find a pillow that isn’t too tall for their kids.
  • Memory foam adjusts to fit your head and hold it properly aligned the whole night. You bet you’ll get a deep, restful slumber.
  • Protect the environment when you use this pillow made without any ozone depleters, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), tris (1,3-dichloroisopropyl) phosphate (TDCPP), tris (2-carboxyethyl) phosphine (TCEP) flame retardants, mercury, lead and heavy metals, formaldehyde, phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), or Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).
  • It comes with a 5-year warranty and is guaranteed not to go flat.
  • You can return the pillow within 30 days, no questions asked.

CONS:
  • Shredded memory foam may shift in the night. If you are a light sleeper, you could wake up feeling uncomfortable and must readjust.
  • Where do you put that extra memory foam that you took out of the pillow? We guess you keep it in a plastic bag in the back of the closet for five years until you forget what it is or does.
  • Some people find that memory foam feels hard, even after it forms to fit your head.
  • Some also find that it gives off an unpleasant chemical odor for the first few days. If you want to use it right away, you’ll be stuck smelling that all night. They also recommend washing the pillow first thing to remove some of the unwanted odors.

Since you can't make more then 1 review on a product, I have added a 2nd review of this pillow below my first. I didn't buy it for me but for my husband who has Sleep Apnea...First a little info about why I purchased this pillow for myself.I am a Disabled Veteran. I broke my neck and back while on active duty. I also have severe Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Since I broke my neck & back, I have ad 44 surgeries. 5 of those surgeries have been on my neck, and I am fused at C4/5, C5/6 and C6/7 and I have Titanium Plates and Titanium Screws in my neck so it takes a lot to get me comfortable. I also re-broke my neck 12 years after the first time . I am on a long list of medication, to include having a Pain Pump surgically implanted in my body that gives me Morphine 24 hours a day.I also haven't had a decent nights sleep in over 10 years, and I usually only get anywhere from 2 to 4 hours of sleep a night, and get cat naps throughout the day.. For the past 4 years, I've been sleeping on a couch because I cannot lay flat and I need very firm support for my neck . We've been trying to find a good mattress so I can actually sleep in my own bed, but I haven't found one that is comfortable enough and gives me enough support for my back. I also can't afford the hefty $7000 - $10,000 price tag on a Sleep Number or I Comfortbed, that would be perfect for me.I can't tell you how any pillows I've purchased over the past 25 years...but it is a ridiculous amount. Just in the past 6 months, I've bought 8 on Amazon, and at least 20 from Walmart and other stores here where I live. I have spent a LOT. The pillows I've gotten have been nice, but they go flat and get lumpy after a few weeks and don't hold up to what I need a pillow to do for me. I came back to Amazon because #1 - Icannot go shopping like most people, and # 2 - there are so many different pillows to choose from, I thought there had to be one for me.That's when I found the Snuggle Pillow made by Relief-Mart. I read all of the reviews, which aren't many, and made the decision to try it out. How many companies will let you try out a pillow for 90 days, and if you're not satisfied - you can send it back for a refund?? None that I know of. So yes, this pillow is pricey and I don't make a lot of money from my disability pay and $70 is a lot for me to shell out for a pillow, but if I don't like it I can get my money back. Before my pillow even got to me, the company sent me an email thanking me for my purchase. They told me a little bit about who they are, and how the pillow is made an how it will come to me, and told me if I ever had any questions not to hesitate to email or call. In my 8 years of buying on Amazon, I have never had a company email me, EVER!My pillow came within the time frame promised, in a box that I thought - wow they really do shrink it a lot!! They included a sheet with infoabout the pillow, and contact information as well. I took my pillow out of the box and it was rolled up like a sleeping bag and they sucked ALL the air out of it! I have to say, this pillow is substantially heavier then any other pillow I've owned but not so heavy that it's difficult to handle. It took a little while to puff up to it's normal size which was fine as I got it early in the day. I did not notice any kind of smell that was so horrible it bothered me. It is foam and shipped in plastic so I knew there would be a light odor, but it really wasn't anything to complain about. Besides, you can wash it if it does offend you. I just put a pillow case on it and used it that night. That night was the first night in over 10 years that not only did I get 6 1/2 hours of sleep without waking up, but I also didn't wake up. Due to the Morphine and Vicodin and other meds I'm on, I get hot and cold and usually wake up cold from sweating. Not only did I wake up NOT sweaty or cold, but my neck felt pretty darn good! I can't remember when I've had such a good nights sleep, honestly. I've had this pillow for 5 days now, and I have had the best sleep ever. My neck isn't stiff, and doesn't hurt when I wake upI got another email from the company 2 days after I got the pillow asking me if I liked the pillow. Honestly - that really blew me away. I love that this company uses all U.S. made materials in their products and that they do not outsource their employees. Not only that, but how many companies back their product, and a pillow at that for 20, yes TWENTY YEARS? If my pillow ever goes flat, I return it for a new one. That is incredible.Obviously I can't say anything about how it has been over a long period of time because I've only had this pillow for just a week...but I willabsolutely update my review after a month and every few months after that.I can't recommend this pillow enough. It's very well made with high quality materials and the exterior is extremely soft on my skin. The pillow is the best pillow I've ever owned and has given me the best sleep of my life since I broke my neck twice. The company obviously cares about it's customers because they've contacted me twice and I've only had it a week, so their customer service has far exceeded my expectations. A 90 day Trial with a full refund and a 20 year warranty?? AWESOME.I would do just about anything to get my health back, so to be able to get sleep, and a GOOD nights sleep at that, means a lot to me. To me, I would pay double what this pillow cost.I apologize for the lengthy review. I just wanted to anyone who reads my review to understand why I LOVE this pillow! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!UPDATE Janary 29 2015:I purchased another Snuggle-Pedic Pillow for my husband. He has Sleep Apnea and uses a CPAP at night. He started sleeping on his back once he started using the CPAP, and he wakes up every day with a stiff neck and I think the people in the next county can hear his neck crack when he first moves his head/neck, not to mention he takes a lot of Motrin just to help loosen his neck a little every morning. I love my new S-P pillow, from day one, so I decided to get him one. He absolutely LOVES it. No more stiff neck, and the cracking has really been reduced. I haven't seen him take 1 Motrin since he got the pillow, so that's great. As far as I go - I still think this is the best pillow around. I am sleeping a minimum of 5-6 hours a night, which is far better then the 2-3 I was getting. It's made a huge difference in my health.UPDATE September 2015 ~ I've had this pillow for almost a full year now and I still LOVE it to death. Over the past 9 months, I've had the BEST sleep ever. Every single night I get at least 6 hours which has been a HUGE help to my health.I have washed it many times and it still looks brand new, and it still has the same fullness as when I first got it! There isn't one thing I could possibly say derogatory about this pillow. It is WELL worth every single dollar.Since getting our pillows, we were able to get a new bed that just makes everything about sleeping amazing. I no longer dread going to sleep!Thank you to everyone for all of your comments and help. I've had 5 more surgeries just this year so I didn't reply to a lot of you, but I did see the posts and appreciate all of your kind comments and help!

Like others here, I've been trying to find the "right" pillow for me. My wife and I have bought different ones over the years. She's satisfied with the other expensive memory foam pillows we bought years ago. I slept one night on them...I take that back, I slept a half of a night on it before resorting to my regular pillow. I never could find the right pillow though. Either they were too firm or too soft. What drew my attention to this one was the reviews and secondly...the 90 day satisfaction money back promise, the (2 times) free customization promise and the 20 year warranty if it ever needs replacing. I called the company to speak to them before ordering (like I tend to do) just to double check and get clarification on their promises and the gentleman was extremely polite, professional and patient with me. The promises are cut and dry. No "gotcha" clauses.I ordered mine KNOWING that there may be a slight temporary smell that I don't like (from the reviews), that the pillow is NOT a solid block of memory foam but it's shredded foam (as it clearly says in the description here) and using common sense I know that I would probably have to send it in for customization to my personal preference after trying it out for a week or so. These things are a given, FOR EVERYONE .....so why people are leaving ambiguous and unfair 1 and 2 star reviews is beyond me. Almost all of the low star reviewers have not taken advantage of the free customizations, After the company tells them to contact them there are no updates as to their satisfaction and those that do update and tell how the company made it right do not change their ratings to coincide with the customer service they've received. I hope the more logical and reasonable potential customers reading this will take this into account when looking at their low rated reviews (that are unfairly and poorly written in my opinion.) It's like the reviewers are going out of their way to be difficult. Since a pillow's comfort depends solely on the person using it doesn't it make sense to have it customized BEFORE whining and complaining about how it feels? I am such a person.I got the pillow...yes, there was a slight smell in my opinion but nothing worth getting bent out of shape about. I mean...I could have washed it but I didn't feel like waiting hours for it to dry and besides...I believe VERY few of us sleep on a pillow without a pillow case anyway! Yes, the pillow cover I have for dust mites and the actual pillow case did mask the smell A LOT. No headaches or anything for me from the smell. I couldn't even smell it after the cover and pillow case was on.I am a side and stomach sleeper. The first night was pretty good, so I decided to go a week and then decide. I decided the pillow needed more stuffing for my personal preference because the foam would shift too much and the pillow would get too hard with my arm laying underneath it when I laid on my side. I called up Relief-Mart and told them my problem and asked what they suggested and the guy was super nice, told me what to do, they emailed me a return label--- so the customization WAS FREE. (It also has it in the description here on Amazon in big bold letters.)I received my pillow back (turn around times will vary due to how close you live to California) and it appears to be near perfect for me. I am very....I mean MORE THAN...satisfied with the pillow's comfort, the customer service and the warranty and promises they've kept! The company did everything they said they would to make sure the outcome was to my satisfaction. I no longer have stiff necks, the morning headaches or anything associated with the wrong kind of pillow.Again....KNOWING that each pillow's comfort level is dependent upon the opinion of the specific person sleeping on it I bought this knowing that I may have to modify the amount of foam that's in it. To deduct stars for that is ridiculous, they tell you that you can customize it before you even buy it...so why penalize them for making a standard pillow that can be modified? Why penalize the company for offering a 90 day money back guarantee? Or a 20 year warranty? I couldn't do that in all fairness. Relief-Mart customized my pillow to my personal comfort level. I waited until I had it customized before writing a review. Hell....even if I sent it back twice and it still wasn't right I could have still gotten a full refund so what would I have to complain about? Why would I have given them a low review for doing everything they could to make me satisfied? I sincerely hope other first time potential customers keep these things in mind when reading the low rated reviews and ordering this pillow. To give this anything other than a minimum of 4 stars is unfair when considering the fact they take every single avenue a company like theirs can to make sure you are satisfied with your outcome and experience, regardless if you keep the pillow or not. I wish more companies went out of their way for customers like Relief-Mart does.Also...when looking at the low rating reviews/reviewers...please notice that most, if not all, have NOT taken advantage of the free customization of the pillow for some odd and mysterious reason. To me...that's like going to an expensive clothing store and buying an expensive suit or new wedding dress and NOT having it tailored (ie..."customized") and then complaining it didn't fit off the rack. Doesn't make any sense, does it? Especially since it's free!

We ordered both the softer and firmer, one of each, king size. The pillows come shipped in a vacuum bag and they give you instructions on how to "fluff" them up; mine did not need it--after five minutes they were fully expanded on their own. I was worried that there might be a plasticy smell with the pillows packaged so air-tight; Nope, their is no smell at all. The first think I noticed about these is that these are biiigggg pillows. They are every bit of king size, no skimping. I personally like the softer one but both firmnesses are still way better than any other pillow I've used before. I bought some expensive pillows from Ikea earlier in the year but they still were not very comfortable. With these CozyCloud pillows, I have finally found a product that doesn't give me a stiff neck or cause me to toss and turn. Give these pillows a try, I think you will find them as great as I have.

I bought this pillow to replace the My Pillow I was using. So glad I did. The My Pillow was a lumpy mess and I never could get it adjusted for my head. This pillow came as described and I put it in the dryer for 20 minutes as directed and it fluffed right up. I am now sleeping so much better and my neck seems fully aligned. I am a side-sleeper and am going though some night sweats but I just need to flip this pillow when I get hot and go right back to sleep. I do have trouble with my cat taking over the pillow because it's so comfortable. Thanks for the good night's sleep I've been missing.

I have been suffering from insomnia since undergoing my fifth surgery on my spine several weeks ago, as well as being awoken by pain every couple hours if I am able to get to sleep. I received my CozyCloud Deluxe Pillows yesterday morning, and was immediately impressed with their obvious high quality and construction. After allowing them to fluff up, I tried them out and was surprised by how well the bamboo-fabric covering allowed the pillow to stay cool; I even felt the temperature difference under my shoulders through a sweatshirt. Last night, using my CozyCloud Deluxe Pillows for the first time, I SLEPT FOR 10 HOURS!! I couldn't believe it when I saw the time! When I awoke, I felt well-rested, alert, and, for the first time in months, felt happy and experienced a can-do attitude. It may sound extreme (and perhaps a little pathetic), but In one night, my CozyCloud Deluxe Pillows have changed my life. I will never again purchase any pillow but CozyCloud Deluxe Pillows.

Conclusion

The CozyCloud is big for a queen size pillow; a plus for adult sleepers and those who like having a little extra support. We also like that the manufacturer will exchange your pillow with their “firmer” version if you find this one is too soft for comfort.

  • This is a softer pillow that feels almost like down feathers to give your weary head a rest. Yet, it won’t turn into a feather pancake by the next morning.
  • The high-quality shredded memory foam and fiber are hypoallergenic. You won’t be left itchy and sneezing after a hard night’s sleep.
  • This pillow comes with a 10-year warranty, and it is guaranteed to be genuine.
  • The 30-day return policy gives you a chance to try it out and if you don’t like this pillow, they’ll give you a refund.
  • If for some reason you get confused, push wrong button when ordering, and end up with the “firmer” version of this pillow. iDreamBest offers a free exchange policy to give you the right pillow.
  • It’s made with non-toxic eco-friendly CertiPur-US Certified Low VOC foam, without PBDE, formaldehyde, or flame retardants.
  • The bamboo cover is designed to allow for better airflow, reducing the buildup of heat and keeping you from becoming a sweaty mess.

CONS:
  • Memory foam can shift in the night, so you may need to periodically readjust it.
  • The pillow is about eight inches thick when fluffed, but settles down to about four inches when compressed. It could start out too high for your head and then end up too low, depending on your body shape.
  • Some people find that the memory foam clumps are too small to hold together and properly support your head.
  • Some people also find that the pillow is heavy and too large for their bed.
  • While it is low VOC emissions, some also report that it gives off a chemical odor for the first few days. It is fully machine washable and dryable, so you can remove that odor a little faster.

Let me start by saying I love the design. I purchased this pillow because of neck pain that wasn't improving. Within a couple of days, my neck felt better and a lot of its tightness had loosened. The dual position was great and cradled my head in the best position. and as they claim I could feel improvement in posture. But now only after 2 months of using the pillow, it has already flattened so much that the support is greatly diminished. I'm disappointed. My neck isn't hurting yet, but the fullness isn't there to keep me in a good sleeping position. I can already feel some tightness returning and no longer feel the posture benefits. For spending $50 on a pillow, I would do expect the material support to hold up longer than 2 months.UPDATE: No longer using this pillow. It went completely flat and lost all of its support.

First of all, the seller's customer service warrants a recognition. I have been an avid customer of Amazon since 2012. I have even purchased a headboard and some large furniture items through Amazon in the past. Through all the purchases I have made in previous years, I have not encountered such a sincere and helpful seller until I purchased the Sleep Yoga Position Neck Pillow.I have been coping with neck & shoulder issues for many years . Like most of us, I have tried chiropractic treatments, massages, magnet therapy and etc, but with no significant relief. I wrestled with my pillows for many nights in efforts to get decent night's sleep, but no avail. I began to dread going to sleep as it was such an ordeal each night. Out of desperation, I purchased this pillow in Medium Firm support. I felt better sleeping on it than any other pillow I've own, however, for me, it was too firm and too big as I am barely over 5 ft tall and quite petite in size. Needless to say, I was still uncomfortable as it was too big for my built. With that being said, I still liked how the pillow supported my neck and kept my spine in alignment, so I inquired to see if there is a softer support pillow. The seller right away replied and told me how to proceed so I can get hold of the 'softer' pillow. Amazon issued a full refund on the original pillow I purchased. The seller advised me that I didn't have to return the original purchase. I ordered a softer support pillow right away. It arrived in two days even during the height of holiday shopping season. I am much happier with the softer pillow (it is labeled as 'Kid's Pillow'). I have not wrestled with all my pillows since I got hold of the softer yoga pillow. I am sleeping better. My back stays in alignment much better. I try to sleep on my back most of the times. When I do sleep on the sides, I have no problem with it. I think it supports the neck quite well even on the sides. Best of all, I am not waking up with aches and pains first thing in the morning. I am still getting used to it, but definitely seeing some improvement in quality of sleep and sleep pattern each night. I am happy that I found this pillow. Again, the seller's customer service efforts are second to none!

I like this pillow. I have horrible TMJ and have had surgery once on my jaws. My pillows revolve around that life. I have tried so many that were not good and was using the same foam pillow for years past its prime. This one works really well for side sleepers with TMJ. your head will rest naturally on one of the creases and then the sides are taller, providing an area of support against your jaw. Its a great pillow.

Features:

  • Made in the USA
  • The patented filler is biodegradable material imported from Denmark
  • The outer cover is made from 45% cotton and 55% lyocell construction
  • Available in a standard and queen size

Conclusion

As far as contoured pillows go, this one isn’t too different from a traditional design. The Sleep Yoga Dual Position Pillow simply makes use of topstitching to ensure that there are supportive places for side sleepers and back sleepers. This may be an interesting option to try if you tend to start in one position and roll over in the night.

PROS:
  • The unique, ergonomic design allows you to switch positions from side sleeping to sleeping on your back and still be comfortable.
  • It’s sewn with a curved padded section to fit snugly against your neck, providing essential support and promoting proper cervical alignment.
  • When you feel like the pillow is getting a little stinky or oily, just toss it into the washing machine.
  • The patented filling is hypoallergenic. Those with dust mite and pollen allergies won’t have to worry as much about sneezing, itchy eyes, or a runny nose while trying to rest.
  • It won’t clump up or lose its shape. The topstitching guarantees that!
  • Cool and breathable, so you stay comfortable no matter the temperature.
  • Available in a medium soft or medium firm option to better suit your sleeping style. The former is suggested as ‘ideal’ for children between the ages of 6 to 13 years old and smaller adults. If more support is what you’re after, the latter is the best option.

CONS:
  • The Sleep Yoga pillow’s top stitching creates an unusual shape that may be uncomfortable for some. Its design also limits you from being able to manipulate the filling.
  • The patented biodegradable filling may break down over time.
  • Since you can’t remove the cover, you’ll need to keep the pillow in the dryer a bit longer after washing it.
  • Lyocell, the cellulose-based fiber used in the Yoga pillow cover, is susceptible to mildew. Just make sure you keep it nice and dry.

This pillow has definitely met my expectations for providing me with good neck support at night. I have arthritis and a degenerative disc in my neck (disc is also bulging out) and I have been searching for a pillow to help me stay on my back or side at night. I have probably tried about five pillows prior to this one, with little to no luck on getting any relief from my pain or helping me stay in good alignment.I love the rounded edges on this pillow. After using this, I have to ask...why do we make square pillows??? The curves allow for great arm placement and leave space for your shoulders to relax while still supporting the neck and head. I love how there is a little ramp tapering out, it fits my neck perfectly and supports it without a big drop off to the bed, making it super comfortable. On my back the very slight indentation holds my head easily allowing my cervical spine area to relax and stay straight. If I turn on my side the thickness of the pillow keeps my shoulder from getting squished and keeps my neck in a good position. Lots of times with memory foam pillows they are way too hard and my ear gets sore, but so far on this pillow I have not had this happen. Also, it took no time to get used to like some of the other pillows I tried, easy to sleep on the very first night. No weird smell either!!!

This pillow is wonderful! I've spent the better part of the last two years trying to find a comfortable pillow. I've had the Tempur Side Sleeper (the old design, not the hard-as-bricks update) for a while, but I would still wake up periodically to adjust. I've slept through the last two nights on this pillow with no interruption, and usually the first few nights are the most difficult. This pillow's foam is supportive without being hard. The two long sides are different heights which is great for people with wider or narrower shoulders who sleep on their side. The cervical support under the neck doesn't dig in like some other pillows when sleeping on my back, and the pillow doesn't shove my head forward while on my back either. And the butterfly "wings" just seem to cradle my face at night without squishing my cheeks in. And no noticeable smell, at least to me. Love this thing! Might just buy another one as a backup for when the foam on this thing wears down in a few years (hopefully the foam will last that long, it seems good quality).

This is the first time that I've written a review for Amazon--this product is that good! I had a buckwheat hull pillow for over 20 years and it served my cervical issues well. Several weeks ago, I noticed that it was taking me a long time to fall asleep at night, I'd wake up several times throughout the night with an unusually sore neck and just wasn't comfortable (I typically wake once to go to the bathroom) and I'd wake up in the morning with a very sore, tender neck, more sore than I'm used to. It dawned on me (finally) that I needed a new pillow. I was considering the "My Pillow" after I saw the commercials on TV, so I headed over here to read the reviews. I wasn't pleased with what I saw, so I kept scrolling until I saw the reviews for this one. I liked how I had "options"--several different heights to try--and I liked how no one noticed an odor to the pillow. The day it arrived, I noticed no odor and slept on it that night--I fell right to sleep and--get this--I didn't wake up AT ALL. Not at all. I have been getting up to go to the bathroom once in the middle of the night for my whole adult life (I'm 49) but I slept for seven straight hours and--even better--no neck pain! It's really true! I've had this pillow for a few weeks now and I continue to fall asleep quickly, sleep straight through the night, and have no more neck pain (other than my usual neck pain that I've been seeing a chiropractor for regularly). I like the higher side for my neck when I sleep (but I'm not that tall--5 ft. 3 in) and it is somewhat stiff, but that is probably because our room is kept pretty cold so it perhaps doesn't have the chance to warm up and soften. Although it's firm, it still cradles me well and, obviously, it's helping me sleep well--better than I have for half my life! I'm so thankful for this pillow!

Features:

  • Created in an innovative butterfly design with 3D contours
  • Made with high-end memory foam
  • Provides multiple sleep options for picky sleepers
  • Comes with a Cradle Me lifetime satisfaction guarantee

Conclusion

Look at this iconic butterfly shape! No really, the Cradle Me Memory Foam Pillow is a suitably firm support for those with spinal issues. When you really need something that will hold you in place and keep your spinal column aligned you want to pillow like this one.

PROS:
  • You’ll be able to sleep on your side, back, face, and in space (not really) with this pillow shaped like a UFO.
  • The 3D contours offer different heights to better fit your specific body shape.
  • Designed to provide orthopedic support for your head and spine.
  • Breathable filling and cover help keep you cool and comfortable throughout the night.
  • With the satisfaction guarantee, if your pillow doesn’t last a lifetime, you’ll get your money back.

CONS:
  • The shape can be difficult for some sleepers to get used too. If you like to punch or squish your pillow into place, this isn’t the best choice for you.
  • While it does fit into most pillow cases, the Cradle Me pillow may not fit into all of the smaller cases.
  • Some people find that this doesn’t adjust quite as much to the shape of your head as other pillows with memory foam in them.
  • Some also feel that the pillow is too hard to provide a cozy rest.

I Love Love this pillow so far. I've only used it the past 4 nights so far, but, I Love it. Last week, I was having an extremely difficult time in bed. I would wake up in agonizing pain. I would wake up in the morning, about 3 hours before I had to get up, my lower body, from my hips down to my feet were often numb and the other days they weren't numb, they were in extreme pain as was my lower back. I usually sleep on my back or left side but, last week, I couldn't get comfortable in any position. I thought it was soley the mattresses fault even though the mattress was only a few years old. I was initially looking into memory foam mattress pillow tops as I thought that's what I needed.I decided to first look into a memory foam pillow to see if that made any difference.Since this pillow had so many good reviews I decided to try it.When it arrived, it was actually rolled up. I unrolled it and placed it on my bed. It was Completely Flat. I had never had one of these types of pillows before so, I was feeling dissapointed initially. I didn't realize that these pillows fluff up by themselves after a couple of hours but, that night, after I came back home, I was pleasantly surprised to see that this pillow fluffed itself up.I was excited to say the least. When I initially laid my head down on the pillow, i was surprised. It was firm, yet soft and very comfortable. That first night, I actually had a very good night's sleep and slept for about 7 hours (which is very good for me) and when I woke up that morning, I wasn't in any pain. I was very happy. And the last few nights sleeping on it, I also woke up in no pain. I don't know what it is.I cannot fully say that this pillow took all the pain away, but, that's the only explanation that I can see right now.Either way, I really like it. It's a bit pricey for me, but, honestly, it's worth every penny.

I am a recent convert to the shredded memory foam pillow hype. I recently had major hip surgery that required me to sleep on my back for more than four weeks. As a side sleeper, being forced to sleep exclusively on my back was complete torture; I found back sleeping to be akin to being buried alive. A family member purchased a shredded memory foam pillow for me, telling me that it would alleviate the claustrophobia inducing feelings I was getting from back sleeping. After one night with a similar pillow, I was hooked. Selecting a pillow is a very personal proposition. If you prefer down, this pillow won't work for you. If you prefer polyfill, this pillow own't work for you either. However, if you prefer a pillow that has a lot of give but is still firm and stays firm throughout the night, this pillow may be what you are looking for. This pillow arrives wrapped in saran-like plastic, completely rolled up as flat as a pancake. Once you (carefully) cut away the plastic, fluff the pillow by grabbing it on all sides and pulling it apart. Take the time to pull all of the inner foam in all directions, then let the shredded memory foam expand for a couple hours. If you take the time to unbundle the foam foam inside, you'll wind up with a pillow unlike any other you've tried. This is not a memory foam pillow, in that it is not one solid piece of gel foam. I have tried those types of pillows and they are in no way what you'll find with the shredded foam found in this pillow. With the solid gel foam pillow, you get complete density without the feel of a down type pillow. With the shredded foam, you get a lot of density with the ability to rearrange the inner fluff just like a down pillow. The biggest difference between down and shredded foam is that, even with the densest of down pillows, you'll still deflate the stuffing while you sleep. Not so with the shredded memory foam. The memory foam will deflate to a point, but not as much.If you are looking for a firm but malleable stuffed pillow, this is pillow will not disappoint. It's firm enough for back sleeping, and malleable enough for my preferred side sleeping style. As an added bonus, it is firm enough throughout the night to support my leg so I don't break my hip precautions while I'm healing from my total hip replacement. Highly recommended.

Awesome pillow. And...I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS FREE OR FOR ANY DISCOUNT AT ALL. I almost never buy products that have reviews that have been "purchased" with free or discounted products. Unfortunately, some products, it seems like every single option has these promo reviews. In this case, memory foam pillows all seemed to have tons of promo reviews. This pillow, from this seller was no exception - many promo reviews. But I actually bought this pillow full price, so I can tell you that it genuinely is a nice pillow. Firm, but not too firm, and nice and cool, doesn't capture excess body heat. It comes in a nice case. It's a pity that there are so many promo reviews because this pillow doesn't need them - it's great and worth the full price. I think it would have earned genuinely great ratings without the need for inflating reviews with promotional offers.

CONS:
  • The memory foam may give off a chemical odor for a few days after you first receive it.
  • Some people report that the pillow flattens out after a couple of months, or that the memory form tends to compress and clump and won’t fluff back up again.
  • Some also find that it doesn’t help their necks as much as it does their shoulders and upper back.
  • It may also cause neck pain when you first use it due to the firmness and height of the memory form.

What an upgrade from a "normal" body pillow! This thing is great... it's quite fluffy, yet the small chunks of memory foam inside give it an unexpected level of firmness. Additionally, the memory foam core gives it more heft than you might expect. Compared to our previous cotton-blend pillow, this thing stays fluffed much longer. There's quite a bit of jargon being tossed around about the cover -- "Kool-Flow," "Visose of Bamboo," etc -- whatever it is, it works. The ability of air to move through the cover and core does keep the pillow cool even as it rests next to a pair of near-99 degree bodies. Size-wise, it's the biggest body pillow I've seen. Check out the comparison picture I uploaded. On the left is a standard body pillow we bought from Target, while on the right is the Snuggle-Pedic version. (Dimensions: approximately 56" x 18") Also, this pillow is Made-in-the-USA... so if that's important to you, there you go. You can support jobs and manufacturing at home.(I was able to find a suitable microfiber-style pillowcase at Walmart for about $7.)Relief-Mart provided me with a pillow at a discounted price for review purposes.

This is the most AMAZING body pillow in the entire world! I am a very sedentary person due to my job and this causes unbelievable back pain. Although my bed is quite amazing, I still have a hard time sleeping without shoving at least two pillows between my legs and usually at least one I can rest my arm over. Not only does this body pillow eliminate the need for those other three pillows I was using, but it is so much more comfortable and convenient. I no longer spend half of my night wrangling all these pillows because my new body pillow is fluffier and it stays in one place for me all night long! I should also mention that I am 6'4 and a heavy guy so any pillow that a guy like me finds to be a great size and comfortable is saying A LOT!Do not be scared when this small box shows up at your door. I will admit, I sure was at first. When I pulled it out of the box it was tightly wrapped and looked smaller than a standard size pillow. Once I got that plastic off, this pillow expanded to WAY bigger than I even expected. If you happen to be a little impatient like me and you want to try your pillow out as soon as you get it. Just pop in the dryer on fluff for a few minutes and you are good to go! If you have the time, just set it on your bed and it will fill out on it's own.Again, I am so unbelievably happy with this purchase. I am finally sleeping like a baby and my back feels so much better every day. Buying this pillow was definitely one of the best decisions that I have ever made for my well being. If all of their products are this good, I will definitely be a customer for life!

So when I saw this pillow I got super excited but you can't even imagine. I am a huge pillow snob. I travel for a living so if I stay in a hotel and have a king bed I ask for extra pillows if I have 2 Queens I use all the pillows for both beds on my bed. I have 7 pillows at home on my queen bed.I could not wait to get this in my hands. When I got home from my trip and the pillow was awaiting for me it was the first thing that I opened. OMG it was like I was a 4 year old on Christmas morning. The freaking pillow is like 5 foot tall and so amazing. Just hugging it makes me love it.Now after the excitement of opening it and seeing it's sheer size I couldn't wait to go to bed and sleep with it. So I tried a few things first it is so big you can snuggle with it and use it as a pillow, just AMAZING. Oh and I have had body pillows before....they have no been as large and they were terrible. However this pillow is like butter. I mean seriously just so comfortable and amazing. I don't know a better way to describe it.With a lot of my pillows that I have had through the years you have to do the "pillow test". This is where you lay your head down on it (or just press on it) and see how quickly it comes back to its shape......well NO ISSUES HERE. I can lay on one spot and go to another and it is back to full shape in seconds.Hands down one of the best pillows I have EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Again I sleep on many pillows weekly when I travel but none have been like this. I would not think twice if I paid double what the price is as this is like luxury at its best!!!!!!!

  • Boasts a Kool-Flow pillow cover made with 43% Viscose of Bamboo, 56.4% Polyester, and .6% Lycra

Conclusion

Body pillows are cool, as in hip, not as in temperature regulating. Lucky for you, this pillow is also made with micro-vented bamboo and shredded memory foam. Both of which allow for breathability, ventilation, and help keep you from getting overheated even while cuddling a 4 1/2-foot-long cushion. It’s also not that expensive compared to the standard size memory foam pillows on our list.

PROS:
  • The Kool-Flow pillow cover is designed with micro-vents to make it extra breathable. You’ll feel cool and comfortable in any season.
  • It’s super long to provide your head, shoulders, arms, and legs with complete support while you sleep.
  • The Snuggle-Pedic’s shredded memory foam filling never goes flat and you can always adjust it as needed.
  • It is hypoallergenic and dust-mist resistant.

  • The Snuggle-Pedic is guaranteed genuine with a 20-year warranty.
  • The non-toxic, low VOC memory foam limits the amount of gases and chemicals emitted by these pillows when first opened.
  • Snuggle-Pedic vacuum packs and seals this pillow for condensed, eco-friendly shipping.

CONS:
  • The pillow is large, so it won’t be useful for more than side sleeping.
  • It can also take up a lot of space, which may be irritating for your bed partners.
  • Some report that the pillow does give off a chemical odor for a few days when first opened.
  • You’ll have to wash the whole pillow at once, since the cover isn’t removable. This also means more time in the dryer. Since it is a large pillow, you may need to take it down to the laundry mat to wash in one of their commercial machines.

I am going to give this an honest review having read every review on this pillow before purchasing. I think it is important to understand that everyone is different when it comes to what they are looking for in a pillow. I also think it is important to understand that many people are simply uneducated as to what type of pillow they need so they buy a pillow not suited to their sleeping style and then give it a bad review. Most of the bad reviews on this pillow can be chalked up to the things mentioned above.I am a back and side sleeper so I put alot of research into pillows that fit that bill. I am 5 ft. 11 inches and weigh 175 pounds. I do not like pillows that are just cushy soft. I wanted a pillow that was supportive but also somewhat soft as nobody wants to lay on a brick. Basically I wanted a pillow that was a good mix of comfortable but supportive. This pillow is incredible in every way!I measured it at about 32 1/2 inches long by 15 1/2 inches. It is about 5 inches in height. The height is important for a side sleeper as it takes up the space between the end of your shoulder and your head in order to keep your spine aligned. This pillow is not a super dense foam so it is soft but still has rebound and support. The denser the foam, the harder the feel. My head sinks just enough to align to my spine with a beautiful soft and cool feel. The cover is of beautiful quality with great stitching and a zipper that you don't even know is there. It can be removed and washed.I want to touch on some things that I read over and over again in negative review's. The smell was one of those. I noticed a very slight smell which is actually called "off gassing." The smell was hardly noticeable to me and dissipated within a few day's. All memory foam does this so if you can not handle it, memory foam of any type is not for you. It does go away. This is true for Tempurpedic as well. The next was that this was not real memory foam. This is a laugher. This is memory foam without a doubt. I will not even expand on that because those people are flat out uneducated about what memory foam is. The next was that this was not for side sleeper's. This is every bit for side sleeper's. Everyone has a different build. Some people have broad shoulder's while other's do not. You can actually measure what is the perfect height for you before picking a pillow. I did this and this is perfect for me. Some may need a 4 inch loft, some may need a 5 inch loft, some may need a 6 inch loft etc.. Most people fall in the 4-5 inch catagory. This is 5 and probably has about a half inch of give when I lay on it. The next was that this does not keep you cool. This is a completely subjective statement. I tend to get hot and this pillow does have a cool feel to me. Memory foam in general does retain heat more and I have had other memory foam pillows that are hot. This one was not hot compared to other's I have owned and has kept me cooler than any other pillow I have owned. Another thing was that some thought it was hard. This is once again subjective. I found this pillow to be a perfect mix between soft and supportive. Some people love soft and only soft. In order for a pillow to have some support it can not just be soft, but, once again a subjective statement. This pillow is not for everyone on that front. Also, while this pillow did have a soft feel out of the box, memory foam also has a break in period like most other pillow's. If it is not as soft as expected when first purchased, give it some time and it may come out to your liking.Lastly, I want to touch on the more highly rated, and also more expensive Iso Cool pillow. I have never owned one, however, they are almost identical in construction. The reason I bought this particular pillow is because the gusseted Iso Cool only comes in a standard size and that was just not going to cut it for me. I am more than happy that I found this pillow as I imagine it is everything that pillow is, just in a bigger size, and for less money. At the end of the day this pillow is perfect for me so I can not see the Iso Cool being any better. Hopefully this helps someone out there in their search for a new pillow. Hopefully it also helps some people out there who this pillow may not be suited for. It is not for everyone.

Searching for a pillow can be a daunting task. I have a very sensitive neck and suffer from Scoliosis in my back. To fipind a good pillow is a challenge because I need the right amount of firmness and softness. I have found only memory foam pillows help my neck pain. There are so many to choose from. I bought a Tempurpedic pillow to replace the last one I had for about 5 years. The old pillow was a really nice pillow and was perfect for my neck. The new one was much lighter, softer and cheaper feeling. Over a hundred bucks and it felt like most of the memory foam pillows you see at Target or Ross. I bought a Ghost Pillow here on Amazon and really wanted to love it but it has a low density memory foam that created multiple pressure points and did not put my neck and spine in proper alignment. It was about a 1/2 inch to high. The ghost pillow looks nice but it was not as comfortable nor any more cooling than the Cool Sleep pillow from Classic Brands.I will list the features I like of this pillow.Memory foam is latest gel cool technology and is a midweight foam so it does conform nicely to your head and does not create any pressure points. You feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. The pillow cover does seem to keep the pillow cool. I noticed a big difference between my normal pillow cover and the cool sleep pillow cover. The holes to allow for air flow but the foam is dense enough that it does not make the pillow too soft.I bought the queen size which is a nice large size. The pillow is perfect for back and side sleeping which is all I do.I was really skeptical about the no name brand and Chinese make but it seems to be of high quality. For the price I can three of these for one Tempurpedic. I was also skeptical about the gusseted design but it also seems to work rather well.I also like the fact the pillow cover seems nice and can be removed and the pillow underneath has a cloth lining so it is not just foam. There was some chemical smell as there is in all memory foam pillows but it was not too strong and has gone away after a week. This is the best value, most comfortable, best quality memory foam pillow I have owned.
September 26, 2016
Very comfortable pillow. Ordered the king size and it fit our pillow cases perfectly. Many reviewers notice a chemically smell. I’ll admit this was present when the pillows arrived (though not near as bad as we prepared for). My wife and I could sleep on them fine.Within a night it was nearly not existent. Two nights, it was gone. The thickness is perfect. I’m a big stomach sleeper. Our last memory foam pillows were too thick/firm to let me sleep this way. These are very accommodating to all sleeping positions. All in all, these seems to be quality material, are very comfortable, and I will be ordering more for our guest rooms.____UPDATE____Now, nearly a year later they are still going strong. The pillow ocvers have been washed regularly and have held up just fine. The foam has also held it's form great. No sagging or loss of plushness. Still 5 stars!
September 8, 2015

Features:

  • Foam is imported from China, while the pillow is made in Maryland
  • Made with 100% cool-pass fiber to wick away moisture
  • Gel memory foam is ventilated for improved cooling

Conclusion

This is a more inexpensive option in our list of memory foam and side sleeping pillows. It is also great for those who like to stay cool. While we focused on the king-sized version, you can also choose from a standard, Queen, or a contoured pillow. The contoured option features a shallow cut out to accommodate your shoulders when side sleeping.

PROS:
  • The unique construction and materials helps this pillow stay cooler than the temperature of the surrounding room for longer.
  • Ventilated holes in the molded pillow also improve breathability.
  • It is one piece of gel memory foam. You won’t have to deal with clumping or shifting.
  • The pillow and its gusseted cover are ideal for supporting your head and neck while side sleeping.
  • Compresses to fit your head’s shape and cradle you all night long.
  • It is naturally antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, and mold, bacteria, and dust mite resistant.
  • Classic Brands offers great customer service. If you find something wrong with the pillow, let them know and you may be able to get a replacement.

CONS:
  • The pillow may feel hard to some who prefer a sleeping surface with more give.
  • While it is advertised for back sleepers too, the pillow’s height may be uncomfortable for some.
  • It is one piece, so you can’t push or pull the filling to the desired shape.
  • It won’t stay cool all night, but does stay cool for longer than other materials. If you wake up hot, you can just flip the pillow over.

I am a side sleeper and have tried several different pillows, including My Pillow and other foam pillows, with no success. This pillow is amazing. For a side sleeper it eliminates the need to support your chin with your hand, arm, or other blankets (my arm used to fall asleep because of this). I would highly recommend for side sleepers. Perfect pillow!!!
September 2, 2016
Best pillow ever! I sleep on both my side and my back and this works both ways, no more neck pain and shoulder pain.I used to use the Memory foam contour pillow for many years but this is way better. I love the lower parts where you can rest you hands on it as well. It is just so perfect!
August 24, 2016
The first thing I noticed is the shape and curves of this pillow. It is designed differently than any other pillows I've tried. The memory foam has a round raised area in the middle which I thought was weird at first. Much to my surprise this is really comfortable. I am super fussy about pillows and rarely find one that I like, but this one is actually nice. The material is strong and it is well made. The design supports my head better. The memory foam conforms to my shape and cradles my head precisely as it is needed. I used a pillow case over the top of it even though the outer case that is on it is washable. I just prefer the texture and feel of a traditional pillow case. This is great to use for watching tv in bed. I put a couple pillows under this one and add it to the top. It supports my head well when laying on my back. Overall, I am very satisfied with the pillow. The only negative thing I could say is that the pillow does have a slightly weird odor when it first arrives. It does seem to get less noticeable after a couple days. Using fabric spray helped to refresh the pillow as well. I am so happy to try this great product.I received this to try for free in exchange for an honest, unbiased product review. All opinions are truly my own.

Features:

  • A single piece of memory foam featuring 3D design
  • Has a removable hypoallergenic pillow cover
  • Comes with a tan handled carrying case for trips
  • Comes with an Inkstar guarantee

Conclusion

If you travel a lot and have cervical problems, this contoured pillow from Inkstar may help ease your woes. A four-position design allows you to use the pillow on your back, side, and even makes allowances for your shoulders and arms. A handy carrying case also protects it while in transit.

PROS:
  • The multilevel design provides multiple options for sleeping without a loss in support. Sleep on your side or your back without pain or discomfort.
  • Memory foam molds to fit and support your head, neck, shoulders, and arms.
  • The pillow even has a lower outside edge for you to rest your arms on while sleeping.
  • Holds your head and neck at the proper level and angle for spinal alignment.
  • You can easily remove and wash the hypoallergenic cover whenever you want. The hidden zipper on the back also improves comfort by covering the hard metal with soft fabric.
  • The pillow also features an anti-mite inner cover to help keep your memory foam clean.
  • If you aren’t happy with the pillow, you can send it back for a full refund with the Inkstar 100% guarantee.

CONS:
  • Some report that the pillows don’t completely fill the pillow covers when they expand after first opening.
  • While the 3D design offers multiple sleep options, it doesn’t allow the sleeper to manipulate the filling into another desired shape.
  • The pillow may feel a bit high for some smaller people. This could lead to headaches and neck discomfort if you try to sleep with it.
  • Others report that the pillow compresses and starts to feel hard after a few days.

Side Sleeper Pro Neck and Back Pillow with Cover

Side Sleeper Pro Neck and Back PillowAre you looking for something out of the ordinary in a pillow?

A doctor developed this patented horseshoe pillow design to help naturally align your neck and back. It is also meant to help keep your airways open and prevent snoring. The Side Sleeper Pro has been around for several years and still boasts an ability to improve your quality of sleep. So, this brand has some staying power.

However, recent reports indicate that the construction process may be hit or miss. It should be noted, that this pillow review is for an older version. The manufacturer has a new version called the ‘Side Sleeper Pro Air’ which contains microbeads instead of polyester.

Sounds satisfying, isn’t it?

My husband has mild sleep apnea, so I bought it for him. He awakes in the morning more rested and refreshed. My son-in-law has moderate sleep apnea, so I subsequently bought one for him. It does wonders for him; it opens his breathing pathways. Highly recommended for back sleepers who need to become side sleepers. It is a bit hard, but both men had little trouble getting used to it. For my husband I also bought the pillow case with the foam cylinder in the middle, which he likes to switch to after sleeping on the side sleeper pro for 5 or 6 hours.

Key points up front about this pillow:*This pillow is magic for me*No shoulder or elbow pain, like I usually get!*Such deep, restful, thrash-free sleep*Firm enough to hold me right, but still soft enough to be pillowy*The ear well was fine, and having my ear on the solid part of the pillow (outside the well) was also fine - it's soft enough not to be an issue, for me at least*Design works great on one side, only ok on the other. Still worth it for me.*Other reviewers mentioned the coarseness of the pillow cover - is valid for them, but I didn't even notice. Threadcount was fine for me.I've been a side sleeper my whole life, but I've also woken up with aches and pains. I currently have an aggravated shoulder and elbow, and a sensitive back, and with lots of curves and a harder mattress than I'm used to, well. Sleep was getting rough! I looked at lots of pillow reviews and got this one. What a good choice! I woke up rested, ache-free, and happy. Since I didn't toss and turn all night like usual, my partner was happy too!The design is funny, with uneven trails and a cavity for the ear - on your side, you snuggle in with the long end down your back until it's touching the back. You put your head down with your ear in the well, which apparently puts your back in alignment. One arm goes under the short tail and one goes over, sandwiching the pillow. It's remarkable how comfy it is! No nerve tingles or aches.Down side is that it's perfect on one side (long side down the back, short side between arms) but only ok on the other (unless one flips sides and rolls the pillow overhead, which is doable but annoying). At "only ok" though (using it backward) it's still way better than regular pillows!

I bought three original Side Sleeper Pro's back when the originals came out in 2010-11. They were worth the money. As a matter of fact they had a buy-one-get one free. Also, with paying shipping you could get additional pillowcases. They were heavier, held their shape and made with a more compact weighed stuffing to keep your neck straight and shoulder from carrying your head weight all night....these were excellent. The box this just came in seemed like the real thing but this pillow isn't the same at all it is lite weight, my head sinks in and doesn't support neck neck or elevate my head as the true version did. I still have the other ones and they are way more supportive than this new one. So what I have decided to do is make my own out of this new one. Take it apart and use it for a pattern and use a higher quality filling. The only positive I can say about this "supposed side sleeper" is they made a good pillowcase for it which will be great pattern for making my own. I was thrilled over the old ones they have lasted through the last 6 years and I never slept better with them still. Hope this helps.
November 11, 2016

Features:

  • As Seen On TV product
  • Horseshoe shape promotes good sleep posture
  • Made with polyester filling and soft cotton cover
  • Comes with a free pillow cover

Conclusion

Those who like this product rave about its ability to open the breathing passages, and provide support to keep you from rolling onto your back at night. It looks like the manufacturer has moved on to another version of the product so it may soon become more difficult to find the original Side Sleeper Pro.

PROS:
  • The horseshoe shape is compact and curves to fit your shoulders and back.
  • Great for side sleeping with an extra-long tail to hold your back up.
  • An ear well in the top of the pillow helps keep your ear from getting crunched.
  • The cotton cover is soft, breathable, and absorbent.
  • Zippered cover is removable and the company sells additional covers.

CONS:
  • The shape of the pillow limits you to only side sleeping. It’s not ideal for those who like to change positions in the night.
  • It may be difficult to find pillow covers for this unusually shaped pillow.
  • Some people find that the Side Sleeper Pro has a chemical odor that never quite goes away. However, this may be due to inadvertently purchasing knock-off brands.
  • The pillow cover is thin and some find that it tears along the seams after a while.
  • Some find that the stuffing moves too much and leaves their heads without support during the night.

Pillows for Neck Pain Side Sleepers

Many side sleepers wake up in the morning with a crick in their necks. They have this pain right at the base of their neck or closer to the very base of their skull that just never seems to respond to painkillers. They can’t even turn their heads.

Sounds not very pleasant, right?

Sure, exercise, morning stretches, and yoga are on the daily regimen to try and lessen this unpleasant sensation. It never completely works to get rid of that crick in their necks. Nor does it stop it from happening in the first place.

Because the real cause of their neck pain occurs while they are sleeping. At some point in the night, their pillows inevitably give out, leaving their heads at an awkward angle that pinches nerves along the spinal column.

Would you believe that people put up with this pain for years?

Well, no one has too!

There are lots of pillows specially designed and developed for side sleepers. These pillows provide the support needed to keep your head, neck, and back aligned while you rest.

This is vital because pain often comes from compression of the nerves in your neck. Chronically pinched nerves can become damaged, leading to tingling or numbness that people wake up with and takes hours to go away. Sometimes, it gets so bad that side sleepers are forced to sleep on their backs.

However, this is an uncomfortable option for someone who normally prefers sleeping another way. These unfortunates are left tossing and turning for hours as they try to find position that doesn’t hurt.

What can you do about it?

Act today to improve your quality of sleep. Search for pillows with firm materials, such as memory foam, to keep your head from tilting downwards. These pillows should have plenty of height to help fill the space between the side of your shoulders and the side of your head. If you tend to roll forwards or backwards, consider a body pillow or a specially designed pillow with extra length to support these areas.

Pillow-Cleaning Pointers

We’ve selected a range of pillows that come with warranties lasting for years. This doesn’t mean you can skip essential maintenance, such as regular pillow cleaning.

Keeping up with the washing will help prevent bacteria, mold, mildew, and even keep dust mites from burrowing their way into the filler material. Regular cleaning also gives you a chance to examine the pillow inside and out for any small rips that could lead to tears in the future.

Pointers for Fresh and Fluffy Bedding

  • Wash your pillow every 3 to 6 months. Mold and even fungi can grow surprisingly fast on a pillow case and inside the filling. If you’re prone to allergies, you may want to wash more often.
  • Check the tag to see whether it is machine washable. Some companies don’t make pillows that are durable enough to go through a machine cycle.
  • Check to see if the cover is removable. Removable covers can be washed more frequently, say once a month, which is great for allergy sufferers.
  • Only wash it on the gentle cycle with hot water. You don’t want to destroy your new purchase. Believe us, the gentle cycle is plenty good enough for removing dust, dirt, and germs.
  • Run it through the rinse cycle twice. The second rinse cycle will help ensure that all detergent is removed from your pillow’s filler material.
  • Low heat on the dryer only. Many of the materials in bedding are light and prone to burning or melting easily.
  • Leave pillows in the dryer for an hour at least. However, make sure you check the dryer often. You want to get the pillow dried completely without burning it.
  • Air drying may be the best option for memory foam. The nature of memory foam means that it burns easily or could even crumple and become damaged under heat. Consider squeezing out as much of the moisture as possible after washing the pillow and allowing it to rest in a room with circulating air until dry.

Pillow Stuffing Options

You’d be surprised at how many different types of stuffing are used inside pillows. Filler runs the gamut of materials from down feathers to man-made gel beads. To go along with that, manufacturers often claim that each type of filling has its own unique benefits and features.

What is the most common pillow stuffing?

It doesn’t take much research to see that one of the most popular pillow fillers is polyester fiber. This product is a type of plastic made from long chains of polymers that are combed and brushed into a light and fluffy filling. It’s inexpensive, soft, and dries easily after washing.

The only downside is that polyester pillows tend to flatten out quickly. Side sleepers will have a hard time getting long-term support from a pillow that is full of this stuff.

Is there a better option?

There is always another option, especially when it comes to pillows. If you’re willing to invest a little bit extra, you’ll move up to a higher quality of material that is great for side sleepers. Memory foam is durable, long-lasting, and hypoallergenic. It is slightly elastic and sticky so it gives when you press on it and will “remember” the shape of your hand, head, or another body part for a few seconds after you take it away.

Some people find that memory foam still feels a little bit hard for their preference. In response, manufacturers have started offering shredded memory foam pillows. These pillows are full of clumps of foam that create the give most people are used to with traditional pillows, while still retaining some of their shape.

If you’re still not satisfied, you may want to look into one of these following options:

  • Gel Beads
  • Polystyrene Beads
  • Buckwheat
  • Down Feathers
  • Cotton Fiber Fill
  • Wool

Just remember, the more unusual the filling, the more difficult it will be to find in a pillow. Those who have sensitivities or allergies may also want to hold off on getting anything made from natural materials.

Specialty Pillows: What You Should Know

Let’s take a look at specialty pillows. These are made in a variety of shapes, all of which are designed to deliver the proper alignment and cervical support for side sleepers. It’s just that there are two things about specialty pillows.

What works for one person may not work for you!

The thing about these pillows is that they are outside the standard shape and size that almost everyone on earth uses. They are created for a niche market of side sleepers who have trouble getting a good night sleep on the traditional rectangle.

However, each of these pillows is designed by a different person who has their own ideas about what works. Some think that back support is essential. Others feel that three-dimensional shapes are required with different levels for the head, neck, and arms.

Imagine that!

Even the filling in some of these pillows may not be par for the course. Of course, specialty pillows do work for customers that rave about them. Just remember that there are plenty of customers who try the specialty pillows and find them lacking.

So, what about your needs?

You may want to wait on the purchase of a specialty pillow until you’ve had a chance to try other types of traditional pillows for side sleepers.

If you do find that the standard size and shapes don’t work for your body type and height, think long and hard about why the traditional pillows don’t meet your needs. If you can identify where traditional design is failing you, this will help you in selecting a specialty pillow that can fill in the gaps, giving you more comfort and a better rest.

You may be limited by your specialty pillow.

Another concern is that specialty pillows may limit you to sleeping in just one position. Not everyone stays in one place for eight hours. In fact, it’s kind of hard to do.

Young people, restless sleepers, and those who have other aches and pains may find it difficult to sleep in one position throughout the night. This can be frustrating when you have a specialty pillow designed only for side sleeping.

Luckily, there are always solutions!

Some manufacturers keep this fact in mind when designing their specialty pillows. They create pillows that are suitable for sleeping in a variety of positions, including on your side and your back. We even have a few in our top 10 list, such as the Cradle Me Contour Pillow and the Sleep Yoga Dual Position Neck Pillow.

Most Wanted Features of Best Pillows for Side Sleepers

Imagine that you are standing in the store staring at row after row of pillows. Each one looks great in the store. Light and fluffy, with packaging that boasts all their excellent features. You have to pick one of these pillows to bring home.

With only a few minutes to spare between picking up the kids and rushing to make dinner, it’s impossible to stand there and review the features of every pillow to decide on the best one. You grab a pillow that looks good and hope, beyond hope that tonight you’ll finally get a deep, restful sleep.

We’ve all been there.

Sadly, those $5 and $10 pillows that you grab in the store never hold up. Yes, they look supportive, but the polyester fiber fill inside always flattens out in a few weeks. You’ve left punching and folding a flattened pillow each night to try and get some support. And just think, if you had put a little time into researching the most wanted features of pillows beforehand things might be different right now.

So, let’s get started!

Side sleepers need a superior kind of pillow that maintains alignment of the spine throughout the night. The head will tilt downwards at an unnatural angle without it, causing all kinds of pain and discomfort in the long run. This pillow should also be comfortable and feel great from the moment you lay your head down to the moment you wake in the morning.

What are some of the features that you should be looking for? They are:

  • A firm, but soft filling that won’t collapse over time
  • Design that maintains alignment of the head, neck, and back
  • Breathability that allows for flow of air through the pillow
  • Easy to clean and removable outer cover
  • It should be hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant
  • A durable pillow that lasts you for years

Find the product that needs these requirements and you’ll feel like you are in heaven.

The right pillow will cradle your head like a cloud and leave you in the deepest, most restful of slumbers every night.

Things To Consider

Okay, it’s great that you know what kind of features you want in a pillow. That doesn’t necessarily help when picking one from the many brands on the market. Lots of brands will even say that they have all the most wanted features.

How do you choose?

Unfortunately, this means that you have to look a little harder at what is supportive in a pillow. You may even need to spend some time testing out pillows from different brands.

Now, that may sound way too expensive! But we’ve got a secret for you…

Money-Back Guarantees

Yes, if you don’t like the pillow after trying it, manufacturers with a customer satisfaction guarantee will refund your money. Some of them also make personalized customizations to pillows at cost. You just need to find brands that offer these services.

Many of the pillows in our top 10 list are from manufacturers that offer customer guarantees and warranties on their products. All you need to do is look through the list and pick out the pillows that you like from these manufacturers to try.

Woah! We know what you’re thinking…

We don’t mean that you should take advantage of these companies or try to “game” the system. It’s just nice to know that there are products that you can test for 30, 60, or 90 days and return for a full refund. No questions asked if you don’t like it.

The companies that offer these guarantees want to make sure that customers are satisfied with their product. They know that a high-quality pillow is a pricy investment. It’s tempting to just pick up one of those cheaper pillows at the store. They also know that they have a better product. All you have to do is buy it and try it.

Do yourself a favor. Make a change and don’t worry about whether you’ll like this pillow out of all the other dozens of pillows that you’ve wasted money on over the years. Because the right manufacturer will offer a money back guarantee.

Pillows for Stomach and Side Sleepers

You may be wondering why it’s so important to get a pillow designed for stomach and side sleeping. That’s a good question.

The truth is, while it may feel comfortable to fall asleep on your side or face down in the mattress, it doesn’t stay that way. This kind of sleep position can lead to chronic pain and discomfort down the road. You’ll certainly know it when you start waking up feeling terrible and wondering what happened!

Well, you didn’t just get old.

Long-term misalignment of the spinal column and compression of nerves and muscles is coming back to bite you.

You see, our bodies didn’t evolve to sleep in beds. Our animal ancestors slept in trees nestled against the crooks and curves of branches. Our more recent ancestors slept on the ground and in caves, using gathered foliage and animal skins as bedding. We’ve always slept on uneven surfaces. The concept of a flat mattress, although very inviting after a long day, is relatively new.

This isn’t a problem for back sleepers. In fact, some researchers think that it’s even healthy for back sleepers to go without a pillow or at least use a very thin one. Sleeping on your back allows the spine to spread out and decompress. Tall, fluffy pillows can also put the head at an unnatural angle for back sleepers.

But one thing’s for sure, it’s not the same for side sleepers and stomach sleepers.

Yeah, it might be nice if we could sleep on our backs. We can’t though. For whatever reason, side sleepers feel most comfortable all curled up and stomach sleepers enjoy the sensation of resting on their bellies.

This means that we have to adjust our bedding to compensate for the misalignment that can occur when sleeping in these positions. An appropriate pillow for someone who sleeps on their side will help fill the space between the head and the bed, without giving way in the night.

An appropriate pillow for stomach sleeper is thin, or even wedge-shaped to help hold the back of the head at an angle. This helps to keep the entire spine straight. Otherwise, you might as well be sleeping on a rock.

Down Alternative Pillows

Feathers were once considered the most luxurious option for any pillow. Soft, squishy, and warm, a down feather pillow gave wealthy heads a wonderful slumber. For the most part, these pillows still work, but …

There are a few problems with feathers.

Down feathers are commonly collected as a natural byproduct of, well, butchering birds for the meat market. Now, these birds would’ve been sent to market anyway. The factories and farms that raise them are just harvesting the down and selling it for use in pillows and other household items. If you are a vegetarian or against animal domestication, you may have ethical problems with the use of down feathers.

Of course, there are other issues.

As an organic product, down feathers will decompose over time. They eventually lose their fluffiness, and the feathers start to separate and come apart. Many a feather pillow owner has also found feathers poking through their pillow covers. If you should happen to tear the case, it is a mess to clean up too.

Those with allergies won’t be doing themselves any favors with these pillows in their beds. As down feathers age, they become prone to developing mold mildew, and even serving as a hiding place for dust mites and other bacteria.

Modern Technology Provides an Alternative

You can still get many of the same supportive and comfortable benefits of down in an alternative material. Shredded memory foam often serves as a down alternative. This product is durable, antimicrobial, and dust mite resistant. Yet, it still provides a softness and give that lovers of down feathers can appreciate.

Not every down alternative is going to be created equally. Some manufacturers shred memory foam into larger clumps that tend to stick together and compress into hard balls that are uncomfortable to sleep on. Others shred memory foam too finely or it is made from a type of material that doesn’t stick together as well.

The best down alternative is a compromise between the two that still feels fine and is easy to manipulate inside the pillowcase, while providing the much-needed support that a side sleeper requires.

Chiropractic Pillows for Side Sleepers

You’re finally ready to throw out the old, flat pillow that does nothing to support your neck and back. Perhaps it leaves you with a stiff neck and tight muscles. Maybe you finally realized that your difficulty sleeping is impeding on all the other areas of your life. In either case, you have got to move on to something better.

But, what is better for those with chronic spinal problems?

The answer is chiropractic pillows. Usually developed and designed by doctors with experience in orthopedic specialties, these pillows give their users neck and back support. Many chiropractic pillows are also designed to:

  • Keep the entire spine properly aligned.
  • Relieve pressure points on the head and body.
  • Help to decompress the spine.
  • Keep sleepers from falling forward or backwards.
  • Prevent sleepers from snoring.

There are a multitude of benefits to using chiropractic pillows when you have back pain, neck pain, and other discomforts that are related to how you sleep. The key of course is finding the brand and type of chiropractic pillows that works for you.

Here’s the rub.

Chiropractic orthopedics can be extremely specific in what they treat and the body shape and type that they are best suited for. You may find that a pillow specifically designed to keep you from falling forward in the night doesn’t provide enough support for the back of your head. Or, the standard size and shape of pillow from a specific brand may be too big or too small to use.

Soon, you’ll start to feel like Goldilocks trying out different beds, but you’re searching for the perfect pillow.

Thankfully, there are manufacturers who provide customization options for those in search of the ideal size and shape of pillow. These companies give you the option of selecting different sizes of pillows from standard to king-size. Some of them even offer the option of removing some of the filler material to give you the ideal pillow height for side sleeping.

Whether you are a picky sleeper or just have a heck of a time finding a pillow that is perfect for your body, brands like Coop Home Goods and Sleep Yoga may have the answer.

Contour Pillows for Side Sleepers

If you’ve been struggling with pillows that seem to lose all their support in the middle of the night or eventually turn into flat pancakes, a contour pillow may start to look pretty appealing.

You’d be right!

Although these unusually shaped pillows do seem a little off-putting at first, they can be just what many are looking for in bedding.

These head cushions follow the idea of filling the negative space between your body and the mattress. Theoretically, this ensures that you have plenty of support to get good and relaxed while you sleep.

Most contour pillows are three-dimensional shapes either molded or cut via machine processes. They are a single piece of material, usually memory foam, which helps prevent them from losing their shape over time.

However, some people find that contour pillows are difficult to get used too. They are cut into very specific shapes that may not feel natural when you rest your head on them. If you are just starting to use one and having difficulty sleeping, consider giving it a few days before you give up. There is always an adjustment period with new kinds of bedding.

Keep in mind that there are multiple designs on the market. If the first one you try it doesn’t work, try and try again, until you find that sweet relief.

Types Of Side Sleeper Pillows

Consider your options when shopping for side sleeper pillows. Because there are a lot of choices. Manufacturers in combination with chiropractors and doctors have come up with some pretty creative solutions to the problem of poor sleep quality.

Memory foam has got your head … And, sometimes your back!

One of the most commonly used materials in pillows for side sleepers is memory foam. This product has been used by NASA since 1966 to provide safer cushions for seats on aircraft. It worked so well, that they soon expanded into producing memory foam products for use in hospitals and other industries. Of course, it wasn’t until the 1990s that later generation memory foam products started being sold to the consumer market.

Memory foam is, of course, made from polyurethane mixed with additional chemicals to increase its viscosity and elasticity. Nowadays, you can find all kinds of memory foam pillows mixed with gels, fragrances, shredded memory foam, or solid foam pillows made to be softer or firmer to suit your personal preferences. It mainly provides support while giving slightly to mold to the shape of your body.

Contoured pillows have that back to the future feeling…

Manufacturers sometimes go in the opposite direction in creating pillows that are contoured to fill in the negative spaces when you are sleeping on your side or stomach. These pillows are still made from soft materials, including memory foam. However, they are designed to remain firm and hold the same shape.

We joke that contoured pillows look like geographic landscapes or topographic maps, but in a sense, that’s not far off. They are meant to give you a supportive landscape on which to sleep.

Body pillows give you something to hold onto!

Side sleepers can’t go wrong with a nice, plush body pillow. These long, thick pillows are designed to be held against the body rather than placed under the head. They’re a good option if you have a tendency to fall forward in your sleep. A body pillow can help keep your face out of the mattress and prevent your shoulders and arms from folding in, which causes some people back pain and shoulder problems.

You’ll find all manner of materials inside body pillows, from polyester fiber fill to that ever-present memory foam.

How To Choose a Side Sleeper Pillow

We can guess that you are having trouble choosing a side sleeper pillow. After all, this is a lot of information to take in at once. You have 10 different products to try and plenty of advice to follow.

Here’s the thing…

You don’t have to spend hours researching pillows. The best way to choose a side sleeper pillow is to look at a few essential features to decide what you want. Consider these questions.

  • Do you think memory foam puts off too many odors?

  • Do you find that polyester just doesn’t provide enough support during the night?

  • Are you looking for something that is contoured to fit your shoulders and head?

  • Are you looking for a pillow that lasts for years?

Once you know what you want in a pillow, it’s easy to pick one out. All you need to do is commit to spending a little bit extra for something that will improve the quality of sleep you have and your health in the long run.

Because a good pillow is worth its weight in gold.
