Read below re: the EXTENDED WARRANTY!!Product works great! Seems heavier than I thought it would be, but once on board I didn’t notice the weight. Cleaning the beds under the oaks trees was the primary purpose of this purchase and after several years of raking and using a handheld blower I can assure you that this purchase was well worth it. There was no start guide on my machine (odd?), but I referred to the owner’s manual and it started up fine. I did not wear ear protection and it did not seem any louder than my mower, weed eater or handheld blower. I used silicone spray to help attach the tubes. In addition, I chose to use only two tubes rather than all three. Now, I knew when I made this purchase I could extend the warranty when using 3-cans of the Husqvarna premixed fuel. My mistake was that I DID NOT UNDERSTAND the warranty/purchase parameters. Both the machine and the Husqvarna fuel need to be on the SAME receipt. I ordered the blower on Amazon and purchased the fuel separately from my local Loews. Delivery of this blower, to my local Lowes, was a 2-week wait and Amazon Prime was 2-days. Same price minus 12 days and it was a no brainer. But, but, but….. I should have ordered the fuel from Amazon. So be aware of this if the extended warranty is important to you. I don’t anticipate problems, but the additional peace of mind would have been nice. The reality is that I’ll probably use the machine 20 hrs a year. Here is what the Husqvarna website says regarding the warranty extension:To Extend the Warranty by 1 Year to a Total of 3:The consumer will need to take only 2 steps: First, the consumer must purchase at least 6 bottles of Husqvarna brand 2-stroke oil regardless of size and/or type at the same time as the qualifying handheld product purchase and both purchases must be on the original product invoice/receipt. Second, the consumer must register their product online.*To Extend the Warranty by 2 Years to a Total of 4 years:The consumer will need to take only 2 steps: First, the consumer must purchase at least 96 oz of Husqvarna brand pre-mixed fuel at the same time as the qualifying handheld product purchase and both purchases must be on the original product invoice/receipt. Second, the consumer must register their product online.*For Multiple Units Purchased:Each qualifying handheld product purchased must have an accompanying amount of 2-stroke oil or pre-mix fuel added to the original receipt in order to qualify. For example, if a consumer purchases a 455 rancher chainsaw and a 125B handheld blower and would like to have them both qualify for a 4 year limited warranty, they will need to purchase at least 192 oz of premixed fuel (96 oz for the chainsaw and 96 oz for the handheld blower).

I actually have owned 4 of these. Usually I'm a fan a Husqvarna products, and I've owned a total of 4 of this particular model of backpack blower. The first 2 were great and the first model still runs great. The last 3 have been prone to ignition coil failures. I currently have 2 that have failed so many times that I have quit fixing them. The failure generally occurs when I'm blowing multiple properties in a row on hot days. So if your looking for a blower for just your personal property you should be fine, but this in not good choice for commercial use.

It's between a 4 and a 5.I have millions of tulip poplar leaves and seeds to deal with over about two thirds of an acre and an eighth of mile access lane. From all the reviews I read, I expected it to be about a third more effective than it is. I guess I would have needed the commercial designed unit to meet my expectations. It operates very well. Once it is going and on your back you can get a lot done. This season I have run it continuously for 2-4 hours on about 10 occasions and it performed perfectly.I encountered none of the carburetor issues that are shown in a number of the reports. I mix my own gas, two one-gallon cans at a time, and always add some stabilizer to avoid any fouling. The vibration transferred to your right hand and arm makes you ready for a break after each hour, which is about the time needed to expend a full tank of gas at full throttle. The choke and throttle combination are a little awkward but nothing to warrant a downgrade in the performance rating. On average it takes three pulls to start, where my four cycle Honda motors start on the first pull.Don't get rid of your hand held, they are still the best for fast clean ups.So far I recommend it and would buy it again based on price and performance. But this is only the first season. It will get little work the rest of the year so I will have to make it a plan to run it every month to keep it in operating order. We shall see.JRH

awesome..im still cleaning yards in November northern mn. leaves are wet and no problem. the air speed is just a couple mph over our echo but it blows over 200 cfm more air than the echo, makes a big difference when leaves need to be blown across a large area and pile up is when you notice the the performance over the echo.30 degree weather I've got to pull it about 5-6 times when first started for the day after that 1 or 2 pulls. very comfortable harness, noticeably louder than the echo.im very pleased with it and would recommend it.

We moved from a 1/4 acre lot w/ 3 trees to a well-wooded 1 acre lot with around 100 trees. Lotta leaves, we have no shortage.I'd borrowed the Stihl BR600 from my father-in-law to test if a backpack leaf blower was for me. It took about 10-15 seconds to reach a conclusion, with this many leaves and this much yard, a commercial backback leaf blower is the only way to go. I fell in love with the BR600 and then the unthinkable occurred, my father-in-law asked for it back! The wife and I agreed that shelling out $500 or so for one made sense. I did some research and found that CFM is what moves leaves, not necessarily MPH. More research showed that the big boy on the block, in regards to CFM, is the Red Max 8500. After more research, I learned that this is the RM 8500 with a Husqvarna skin. I'm a huge Stihl fan too, I have 2 beloved Stihl chain saws. I really wanted to prefer the Stihl, but the results and a couple of other reasons ended up being compelling.I'd always heard great stuff about Husqvarna and this is no exception, starts on 1st or 2nd pull every time. Very well built and that 75cc motor is a monster. I like the sound of it.BR600 to 580BTS comparisons------------------------------------------- I didn't really notice a performance difference between the 580BTS and the BR600 until I began addressing leaf mountains. Simply put, the 580BTS, with it's 200 greater CFM, makes shorter work of bigger leaf mountains. They both are very strong, but I certainly noticed the difference when I got in to the knee-high & hip-high piles.- The hip and chest straps on the 580BTS do such a fine job of distributing the weight, I honestly don't notice a weight difference. Where I notice a big difference it with the motor's gyroscopic effect, it's like the back pack is trying to get off your back more with the BR600 than the 580BTS.- The 580BTS is considerably louder than the BR600, get hearing protection.- The difference in fuel thirst is negligible to me. I'm saving so much time, I don't care about the fuel costs.- I much prefer the see-through tank on the 580BTS so, at a glance I can make a fueling decision when embarking on a full-on 1-2 hours leaf assault.- The 580BTS is a 2-stroke engine, the BR600 is some sort of different 4 stroke hybrid. I'm pretty comfortable with 2-stroke engines. I kept reading about "valve servicing" with the BR600 that I wasn't entirely interested in conquering.- I initially preferred the throttle control on the BR600 until I adjusted and readjusted the throttle control on the 580BTS.I couldn't be happier the 580BTS. If you need to destroy mountains of leaves, this is your monster.

Wow! I have been using the reverse of my wetvac to blow leaves for 10 years now. I expected the difference to be big, but this is amazing! This blower has intense strength (it can throw rocks) and with variable speed its also very gentle. Easy to put together, simple start procedure and starts easy. I have Bermuda grass and it blew the old, embedded clippings and stuck leaves out, right down to dirt. I have spent tons of time and effort raking in the spring to de-thatch and get the tiny amount of leaves I didn't get in the fall out and it never looked as good as what I did with this blower in about an hour. I'm in the south. In fall, from Oct to early December I would blow and rake for approx 5 hours for 3 times and the other 7 weeks I would spend 2 hours each. I expect that will be reduced to 1 hour each week and no raking at all. I will never use a rake again! Don't buy a lesser model thinking you don't need the power. You need it! It's well worth it. For homeowners like me, this blower can last a lifetime if properly maintained.

"Before I purchased my TB4BP Blower, I read every single product review. Why there are so many complaints about the tubes being difficult to assemble, I do not know. Perhaps, Troy-Bilt fixed the problem before I bought mine. The tubes easily snap together if the tubes are warm, and aligned per the instructions. I did notice what some referred to as the plastic tubes being slippery. To compensate, I positioned the handle down against a hard surface, and held it with one hand, while twisting the other tube with the other hand. If the plastic is too slippery, use gloves that have a rough texture. The tubes went together easily for me. It is important to align the knobs with the slots. You have to look at the inside of the tube to make sure that they are aligned. As for starting, I primed the engine 8 times, until I could see gasoline coming into the tube. I pulled the starter rope ONE TIME, and it started immediately. I couldn't believe it! I have never had an engine start so easily right out of the box!! The 4 cycle engine is powerful enough to handle what I need to do. And this little thing is so quiet compared to another brand that I used to own. I would still recommend that you use hearing protection if you are planning to use it for more than half an hour. I really liked how easily the straps were adjusted to fit my 5'10" frame so that the unit rested on my hips. The competitor brand did not have this feature, and it hurt my shoulders after an hour or so of working with it. Not so with this Troy-Bilt design. The weight rested gently on my hips. The adjustment for the control handle was great. I could easily set it for the proper length for my arms. When I put this on, it was comfortable to wear, and was not too bulky. It was very light weight as well. I was so blown away by how easily this blower went together and how it great it worked afterward, that I really cannot find anything to complain about. The engineering team who designed this deserve some recognition for outstanding skill!

I am in the middle of my fourth season of clearing leaves with this leaf blower. I am very pleased both with its quality and reliability and with the excellent job it does in clearing leaves from my lawn. It always starts on the first or second pull (after proper prime and use of choke until it first sparks to life.) I had some learning curve to discover how to most effectively clear a lawn of leaves with a blower as this was my first experience with using one. One of the most surprising things is that medium throttle setting (hence lower air velocity and volume) is more effective in many situations than full throttle because it gives better control of the leaves. I heartily recommend this product for anyone with a strong back and the patience to become familiar with the product. The negative write ups on this blower appear to be from buyers that failed to fill the crankcase with oil upon receipt of the blower and before starting it up.

Conclusion

Let us all agree on one thing.

You do not have to mix oil and gas for the blower to function, as it comes with a 4 – cycle gas engine. So, give it a go and remember to let us know how it goes.

I purchased this blower for my wife as she likes 4 stroke equipment. It was just a little big for her but she is barely 5' and 105 lbs. She was excited to get it and we proceeded to gas and oil it up and try it out. It really blows up a storm, incredible performance compared to other leaf blowers we had, and very quiet while doing it.Well it ran for an hour without issue, but the next use it wouldn't start. Had spark, fuel and felt like it had compression. I checked all the simple things, didn't really want to tear it apart too far since it was under warranty. I called Makita and they said either bring it to a service center or get a refund or replacement since it was within 30 days. I called Amazon and they wouldn't take it back, which I knew, but said he would issue a refund and to dispose of the blower.I now had a refund and a non running Makita blower. It would've been a waste to throw it away so now that there was no warranty and the sale void I tore it apart. I found a broken pushrod, broken lifter and scored up cam. The cause; no oil to the cylinder head. If you look under the air filter you will find a square cap in the corner. Under that is a vacuum operated valve. While the engine is running that valve will open and pull oil up from the crankcase and flow it into another tube that goes to the head. The faster the engine runs the more oil will flow. From the head it makes it way to the cam and lifters. The plug on mine was not seated correctly and oil was flowing into the intake tube to the carb rather than the head, which is what caused all the damage.I called Makita again and told them the story and to find out if I could purchase parts. I had all the part numbers I needed for cam gear, 2 lifters, and 2 pushrods. They sold me the parts shipped for $48. Got everything installed and it fired instantly and ran perfect. I'm going to pull the valve and cam covers occasionally just to make sure it's getting oil but so far so good.So just a word of advice, check to make sure that cap is on tight in the airbox. There is a rubber tab that hangs down from it so make sure that is in place as well. This oil valve setup is in the left front corner of the air box as your looking at it from the recoil side, can't miss it.All in all I'm happy with the blower, especially since I have $48 into it. If nothing else I will donate it to our church. If I buy another I will find a BBX7600CA model. The CA is made in Japan and the N is made in China, at least that's what Makita told me, and they were aware of the questions of origin on Amazon.UPDATE: After the repairs the blower ran well for about five hours, then quit again. I've yet to pull it apart but by the sound I get turning it over slowly it's broke some valve train or cam/lifter parts again. The oiling system on these is less than ideal, and even the manager of the Makita service center admitted the same. I may repair it one more time, not sure. I just bought a Husqvarna 356BT from a local dealer for my wife, with a 4 year warranty. It's much more comfortable as the weight doesn't hang so far off your back. I won't buy power equipment online ever again, much rather have local support.

Be Advised - there are some issues with this unit. I used the unit after purchase for about 3 hours and it started stalling when you accelerated the engine. Makita 1-800 service was great, prepaid the shipment to the service center. It took about 2 weeks in the middle of my "blowing season". They replaced the carburetor, plugs and some other fuel related parts. It was a big repair. It just got back from the service center and the same issue is happening after 15 min of use. Based on so many positive reviews, looks like mine was a lemon - but it has been unusable or gone much of the season. Just what I was hoping to avoid by purchasing a high quality unit.UPDATE- Makita customer service advised me to send it back for another repair. I have to purchase a large box for the unit but they will cover the shipping and repair under the one-year warranty. I requested a new unit to avoid further inconvenience but they will not send a new unit except as required by the lemon laws: after 3 unsuccessful repairs in 90 days. So more time without use of the blower.UPDATE - 2nd RETURN FAILED. The unit arrived back from Makita after the second repaid and it had the exact same issue. Stalled when the throttle was turned up right out of the box. I ran it for 10 min to make sure it did not need to warm up. Idles great, won't rev. VERY frustrating. They still will not send me a new unit and insist on having it returned for further repairs. The repair notice in the box noted a new carb was installed. The issue was so obvious that I find it hard to believe that the tech did not notice. Maybe they just let it idle and then packed it up. It was also shipped back from the repair center with gas in the tank which I'm sure FedEx would not be pleased to hear. Bad news all around. Nice folks in the call center but they are powerless to override the policies even after two repairs.

What an amazing blower! I purchased the Poulan Pro 48cc. backpack blower a few weeks ago to clear the leaves and mixed debris in my horse pastures in order for the grass to grow. Not only does this blower do an amazing job with leaves, it also clears old piles of manure, hickory nuts and compacted and half rotting clumps of stuff in low lying areas like a dream. This is the 2nd backpack blower that I have owned yet the first Poulan Pro product... I will now never purchase another brand. It is light enough to not leave you fatigued after a couple of hours, and I never had any issues with starting the unit. The only thing I would change is the instructions on how to assemble and where the primer bulb is located. That took me a few minutes to figure out.
February 13, 2017
This backpack blower fits the bill perfectly for me. It feels high quality and solid. The motor starts very easily and the power is plenty adequate. It seems pretty quiet, more so then the ones I hear the landscapers in the neighborhood using. Ear muffs are still required as with any power equipment usage. Make sure to use non-ethanol gasoline, many gas stations have a dedicated pump for it. Ethanol will slowly kill a 2 stroke especially if you let it sit too long. The only complaint I would have would be the flex hose connecting the power unit to the joystick/nozzle section. It could be a better material that is more pliable.

Assembly of the parts is easy, just make sure you line up the arrows before putting it together.Cold start can be a bit hard, but when it starts it works fine. (Prime 10 times, put choke UP, put switch at ON, put Yellow grip on Maximum, Pull the cord 5 times, put choke DOWN, Pull the cord another 5 times --- Repeat whole cycle till it starts). It is really, really noisy. So be considerate to your neighbours, don't use it too early in weekends, not too late (kids go to bed early) and not during dinner times.Make sure you run it dry before the winter, fuel with ethanol can damage the carburetor easily when left inside over the winter.Other tip: Get a 1.25 Gallon No-Spill can (about $16, expensive but worth it), and 2-Cycle Oil in an easy-mix container (about $6 for 16oz, good for mixing 6 gallons at your home-improvement store) so you can easily and cheaply regular unleaded gasoline with the oil yourself to 50:1.

PB – 770T ECHO 234 MPH 765 CFM Gas Backpack Blower

PB-770T ECHO 234 mph 765 CFM Gas Backpack BlowerIn our honest opinion, Echo has never disappointed when it comes to manufacturing outdoor power equipment. The Echo PB – 770T is one of their high-performance backpack blowers.

There are many reasons why you should get your hands on this amazing blower. Firstly, it is powerful and can reach air speeds of up to 234 M P H. Although it is relatively bulky, it has a wide – angle tube rotation and an extra flexible tube for easier maneuvering even in confined areas.

This thing is a monster, an absolute hurricane coming out of the tube!! I have used the Stihl BR-600 before, and this ECHO is more powerful. Yes, I said that. This pumps out more CFM at the pipe (765cfm) than the Stihl BR-600 which pumps out roughly 677cfm measured at the tube. Not hating on Stihl at all, I love their products, especially their chainsaws, I own a MS-291, and an MS-311 chainsaw. But this ECHO PB-770T impressed me. I also have a smaller Husqvarna 150BT blower, 50cc which is roughly 450 cfm at the tube. This ECHO is no comparison, it's a night and day difference.Another reason I like this better than my Stihl BR-600 is that the ECHO is a true two stroke engine. Stihls "4 Mix" engine has valves and requires periodic valve adjustment. Nothing wrong with that, it's just a more complex engine design, the ECHO has fewer moving parts and the engine is simpler. ECHO has no valves, so requires less maintenance, and theoretically improves reliability. Stihls chainsaws are true two stroke engines, that's why I like them.To those reviewers who said that the ECHO is sensitive to ethanol based fuels and their carbs are gumming up, are you serious right now?! ALL 2 cycle engines are sensitive to ethanol in the fuel. Yes, some more than others, that's why I use an ethanol FREE premix. I buy a case of eight 32 ounce cans for about $45 from the local home improvement store and it lasts me all year. I left it in the tank for several months, and it starts right up with one or two pulls, no problems. If you can't afford good quality fuel, then go get an electric blower. The premix does cost more, but it's actually cheaper in the long run, cuts down on carb rebuilds and repairs. So by NOT using the premixed ethanol free fuel, your actually doing you and your equipment a disservice. The ECHO PB-770T is a gorilla, feed it some good premix and you won't have any problems. Very pleased with my purchase!

Very powerful, have had an excellent experience so far and hope it to be as trouble free as my hand-held Echo Blower has been.

I don't even know where to start. Incredible? Stupendous? Amazing? A gift from God? This blower, well, blows! And let me tell you, it blows very well. I had a hand held unit for 13 years. I think it blew around 130 Mph. By the time I was done using it, even on a small yard, my arm and back ached. It took forever to move a pile of any size more than a foot. But this blower....this absolutely beautiful, powerful, quiet, debri moving machine does it all. If you aren't careful, it will blow the decorative rocks from the shrub beds across the walkway and into the grass. I found just letting it idle was best for leaf removal in the rock beds. We also have a gravel driveway. DO NOT open this bad boy up to full throttle while blowing the leaves off a gravel driveway if your cars are in it. My truck now needs a new windshield, and my wife's car looks like a hail storm hit it from the side. I'm sure it will buff right out though. ;-). We have just over two acres, and are surrounded by trees. There is an area out front by the road that has a couple of dozen trees in a small space. It is full of sticks, child's fist size rocks, and lots of leaves. In the past, I would have to go out and pick up all of the sticks first. Then I would blow, which took at least an hour, then pick up all the rocks that had worked their way up thru the dirt. Today I went out there with my new Orange Beast. I did NOT pick up sticks first, I just let the big dog run and started blowing. In 20 minutes, the area was completely clear of rocks, sticks, acorns and leaves. I didn't have to pick up a single thing. I've had 3 spinal fusions, and in the past, blowing leaves killed my back. Holding it in one hand with the wind pushing your arm back, which put force on my shoulder which in turn "twisted" my trunk/core. I was worried that this monster would hurt even more because of it's weight and the awesome force with which it blows. WRONG! The force is transferred to the backpack, not my arm. With the shoulder and chest strap, the force is applied pretty evenly, and I DO NOT HURT! I can't say enough about how great this blower is. I have a Husqvarna 26 Hp, 48" cut that I have now abused, I mean used, for 3 seasons. I have had zero issues with the mower. This blower seems to have the same high quality as my rider does. It starts on the first pull, every time. Even on days like today where the temperature was only 38 F when I started it. If you want a great blower, look no further! I just got done doing what I hope is my last leaf cleanup of the year. This is just a small section of our front yard. Looks good, doesn't it!

Received a unit that had a defect. The cruise control throttle doesn't work at all. Took it apart and fixed it (cable was out of place), but after a few minutes of use stopped working again. No time to keep messing around with it and for a unit in this price range I expect it to work out of the box. Amazon customer service was exceedingly awesome at fixing the problem though. +5 to them. After a few practice uses and a real yard cleaning i can say this blower really delivers in performance. It blows hard and is very quiet. It's even quieter than my old 4-stroke that was half the displacement. Only complaint is the instruction manual, which is trash. I'm an engineer and I was having a hard time following it. They need to contract IKEA to make assembly directions. Some tips I can give for others though:1. Have some sort of lucubration ready to install the plastic pipes, especially bellows pipe. A few drops of veg oil on a paper towel will go a long way. They fit really tight and need some help to get to final position. I'd say this is a good thigh though.2. Make sure to have the stop switch in the ON position. It's pretty easy to forget it's off. My last blower used a momentary kill switch instead of a maintain switch. Wish this was the same, but it's just a matter of getting used to it.3. Wish the choke was labeled differently. It is OPEN or CLOSE. START or RUN would be better, but there is a sticker on the side explaining it.4. The pull chain takes a lot of force. You have to pull it very slowly first for a few inches until it catches, then let her rip. If you have shoulder issues this could be challenging. Fortunately i'm still young-ish.Hopefully it works well when it's cold so i can use it for blowing snow.

Love it! Love it! Love it! I used to rent blowers when needed for my business but when I compared the costs and performance with this one, I couldn't not buy it. It works fabulously and has already recouped my purchase versus rental costs even though I have only used it on a couple of jobs; $128.00/day rental versus $399.00 purchase; not a bad deal. Use it for four days and it pays for itself. If that were not enough; it has very good blowing power and is lighter than the rentals I used, causing less fatigue on the job. It is very well made so I do not anticipate having to replace it anytime soon, but if I do, I would buy this again.

I bought this as a reprieve from gas, not a replacement. I say that as I have around 20 acres, mix of wooded and clear, but the house that the "lot" is on about 1.5 acres that is fairly wooded. We maintain the 20 acres monthly on average, but the area around the home daily. We have always used gas, and have a lot of Stihl products that are phenomenal.I use this to blow debris, pollen and leaves off the driveway, deck, porch and garage. We have crap all over our yard almost daily. And the way the wind blows here, a lot of it funnels down around the house and makes it way into the garage. This makes it quick and easy to clean it up for a minute or two every night. Plus, we entertain a lot and sometimes I need to do a quick cleanup before guest arrive and like to be able to so without having to change clothes. With this it is simple and, most importantly, I don't smell like a refinery when done and that was the biggest factor that drove this purchase. Every time I crank up the Stihl I need to change clothes after. Now, this is no replacement for a true gas backpack blower, but for simple tasks like blowing debris, pollen, leaves or grass clippings off the driveway/deck/sidewalk/porch it is a no brainer. I can see why some pro mowers would go to this for grass cutting, as all they are cleaning up after a job is grass clippings. Even though I haven't gone through a leaf season with this I already know that this will not take care of leaves from 50+ trees on 1.5 acres, heck look at CFM ratings and you know that. There are handhelds from some manufacturers out there that compete with this on a CFM level, but this is a great piece of equipment to throw over the shoulder and do some light clean up.

I recently purchased this item and overall I am happy with the blower.PROS:1. Quiet when compared to a gas powered model.2. Good power.3. Ability to select the battery using a switch.4. Speed lock is also handy.5. Padding is comfortable.CONS:1. Batteries do take quite a while to recharge.2. The battery charger did not come with a wall mount bracket (the 40V DeWalt hedge trimmer I received as a gift had one included).3. You cannot change the blower hose to the left-hand position (I think this is probably true for most, of not all, backpack style blowers).4. The plastic fitting adjustment clips for the shoulder straps are junk. One broke when I was tightening them with the blower on my back (this was the very first time I had put the darn thing on too!).
April 13, 2017
Another awesome DeWalt tool. The full retail price is more than I would pay, but I caught a good sale pre-season. We have a small lot so after 4 uses there is still most of the first battery left. I removed the second battery to cut down on weight. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this blower for a good size lot and i'm sure between the two batteries its good for quite a while.
June 16, 2017

What Do You Need To Know About The Best Backpack Leaf Blower

Do you really need a leaf blower for your home?

We suppose you do, especially if you have a big yard or garden. However, if you live in a quarter-acre, we recommend that you use a rake. Leaves, grass cuttings, and other debris can be detrimental to your landscape if left unattended. This is where blowers come in handy. At less than 200 bucks, you can get a good blower that can clean up your compound in a matter of minutes.

Before buying a leaf blower, you need to put various factors into consideration. How much will a blower cost you? Does it bring value for money? Does it come with extra tools and accessories? Does it have replaceable parts? Answering these questions will guide you to make a decisive selection.

Do you want to know a secret?

You need to find a balance between cost and efficiency. When shopping for a blower, do not look at its price tag. Interestingly, a blower might be expensive, but of low quality. On the other hand, another blower might be cheap but of high quality.

Establish its features and determine what is good for your needs. However, if you are still having trouble finding a suitable blower, do not fret for we are here to help you.

Care & Maintenance

While using a leaf blower is simple, taking care and maintaining it is another story. To be honest with you, without proper care, your leaf blower will not last for long. Your carburetor might malfunction, and your blower might come to a complete halt. Additionally, some warranties do not cover repairs due to tear and wear. Nevertheless, here are a few tips on how to care for your blower:

  • Before Use:

Before using your blower, make sure it has the right mixture of gas and oil. Check your user manual to confirm the right mix ratio lest your blower will not start. Using gas without oil will permanently damage your blower. If it runs on batteries, make sure that they are fully charged. Also, check the air filter to ensure that they are not clogged.

  • During Use:

Avoid banging your blower against objects during use. Additionally, adjust the speed throttle to the lowest possible setting that will get the job done. This is because using the blower at full capacity for long periods will cause unwarranted wear and tear.

  • After Use:

After using your blower, clean it with a damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Check the air filter and remove clogged elements using a soft brush. Check for any loose nuts before storing in a dry location away from harsh conditions.

  • Routine Maintenance

  • Clean exterior surfaces after use
  • Check that all locks and switches are in place
  • Clean the flywheel fan blades
  • Clean or change the spark plugs
  • Clean the air filter
  • Check that all nuts and bolts are intact
  • Check that the throttle trigger is functional
  • Check for cracks
  • Check that all cables and connections are intact
  • Clean the storage bag and ensure that it is intact

Routine maintenance can be carried out daily, weekly or monthly depending on usage. If you have trouble maintaining your blower, then you should consider calling a professional. Importantly, do not open a blower even if its stalls, to avoid the possibility of experiencing electric shocks or causing further damage.

Picture this.

Your warranty has run out and you do not have enough money to take your blower for servicing. You are all but grounded. This is where the importance of regular maintenance comes to play. Performing regular maintenance on your backpack leaf blower will not only keep it in top condition but also prevent damage. It will also save you a lot of money on repairs.
